Here is my Monday design. I'm working on some complementing designs for quilting, and it's been a fun project. This is just one of a series I've done. I've researched what quilter's look for in designs, in an effort to pull together groups of about 6 or 8 that would look good together. What do you think? I'd love to hear your feedback.
Not quite sure what I would do with this design, but I do think it's a bit of retro fun.
One of my favorite Christmas gifts from Nick is a Women's Wildflower Belt, from Sahalie. It's 100% wool and-crocheted by women artisans in Ayacucho, Peru, as part of a fair trade co-op that employees 300 women. I got the belt with the cranberry background, and it looks great with the jeans I have on today.
I've seen them sold by other companies, so it's possible you've seen them too. Anyway, this belt gets a definate thumbs up by me, so if you've ever thought of buying one, I say "Go for it!"
I've been looking for a belt, but there are way too many choices out there. I've been wearing a lot of turquoise lately, and thought maybe that would be the way to go. Here's what I saw that I liked:

So, do you think I'm in some South Western Cowgirl stage, or what? Anyway, it was fun looking at all the incredible workmanship in the belt buckles. Just too many choices out there to make any kind of decision, so I'll just keep looking.

Yup, there are things that just make me stand back and say, "WOW!" I bet I'm no different that you. Maybe the difference is what it is that brings you to the point of "Wow."
This dinner plate dahlia is one of them. It showed up at my desk at work yesterday. One of my bosses grows them and every year brings them in to share. This is a small one. I saw one on someone's desk that was almost twice the size of this one.
And here is another thing that stopped me in my tracks. Burnt red Frye Campus boots. Many years ago I had a pair of them. I loved them and wore them all of the time. They were comfortable and fashionable and about $125 less than they are today.
I'm told by someone in my house that I will not wear these. They will sit in a corner and I will not even look at them. That is simply wrong. Two years ago was the first time I saw Frye boots in red and fell in love with them. When I finally got around to place an order, they were sold out – everywhere. I think I should have these, I think I need these. Call me crazy, but these just scream "Wow" to me.
I will be the first to admit that I am not a shoe person. We used to refer to my mother as "Imelda Moncrief" because she l-o-v-e-d shoes and probably had more that 50 pairs. She wore a 9 narrow so there was no chance of any of her daughters wearing them.
When Beth was little, she'd say to my mother, "Nanny, can I play with your shoes?" My mother always said yes with a follow up of "Please put them away when you're done." She always did and that's why my mom always said yes. I think Beth may have inherited my mother's love of shoes - but not me. My feet do not like fancy shoes. I wear clogs and running shoes and hiking boots - and yes, I have a pair of crocs that I wear around the house. I own a few pairs of nice shoes, but they just aren't all that comfortable. My feet long for comfort and so I've resigned myself to the clogs. However, for a couple of years now, I've been checking out the shoes on the Re-Mix Classic Vintage Shoes site. Here are some that I think I can actually wear or would like to try to wear:
Okay, well they may not be that fancy, but I think they look pretty comfortable. I can even order up a pair of flannel-lined jeans to go with them - but maybe that's just taking it a bit too far!
