No, I wasn't away from home. My stepdaughter, Jessica and her fiance Luke, were here for a week of fun. Here is a summary in pictures of their visit:
The first evening we caught the ferry in Charlotte (pronounced Char-lot) and traveled to the Old Dock House across the lake in Essex, NY for dinner.
Day 2 was a bit rainy, but we decided to check out the TAM and start at Belden Dam. (Luke and Nick)
Then over to the Pulp Mill Bridge on the Otter Creek.
This guy didn't seem to mind having visitors.
We sat and watched the creek for a while.
We put our visitors to work on Monday.
On Tuesday Luke and Jessica (both in front) and Nick (2 back from Jess) went white-water rafting on the Indian River near the Hudson in New York. I missed out because of work.
We spent time in the pool, there was a hike up Mt. Abraham, a hike at Button Bay, oh, and Jessica and Luke managed two days in Boston to see a Sox game and enjoy some culture. Although this picture is a bit dark, you can see the happy faces tell it all. This was at the Storm Cafe where we had a great dinner the last night they were here.
After dinner we took a walk around town. This is looking at the falls in the middle of town (Middlebury).
And that's where I was last week, just enjoying Vermont, the place I call home.
sounds like a fun week!
